Now that they have retired in Orange Beach, AL, my brother Jim and wife Jackie are anxious to cruise their Grand Banks 42-footer (same model as Calypso). They have been over here twice last year for a group cruise around our area. Jim has done a lot of work on some improvements to make the Seminole more cruise-ready.
For my part, I have accomplished all planned maintenance actions, bought a big ol' Rocna 72-lb anchor, and made some improvements in the Garmin chart-plotter including video inputs from engine room and aft-looking cameras.
What we are contemplating is essentially a repeat of the 2009 trip we took toward Key West. We will likely not repeat the run out to the Dry Tortugas from Key West. Departure date from Panama City is 11 March 2013. Stay tuned.
